WBEZ’s Podcast Passport Presents: Hello from the Magic Tavern

September 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

| $25.00

Next in WBEZ’s Podcast Passport series, we transport you from Chicago to a fantastical world called Foon – and your tour guides are a human, a wizard, and a shapeshifting badger. This is Hello from the Magic Tavern!

Cited as one of iTunes’ Best Podcasts of 2015 and listed in The Guardian’s 10 Best New Podcasts of 2015 (that aren’t Serial!), Hello from the Magic Tavern is a light-hearted fantasy improv podcast that covers the culture of both Earth and Foon. From breaking ice with a flower that loves wine to discussing the struggles of being a unicorn, this podcast delivers quick wit and endless imagination.

In a nutshell – three Chicago comedians created an improv podcast that airs from a fictional universe they call Foon. The podcast features fictional characters voiced by real-world celebrities. Guests have included “Windsprinkle the Unicorn,” voiced by WBEZ’s own Peter Sagal, Felicia Day as a powerful wizard, Author Cory Doctrow as a whistle-blowing surveillance spider and Dave Pasquesi as a torturer. Stay tuned for the special guest featured in the live show!

Kick back and enjoy the ride, as Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore travel back to Chicago for a live taping at Music Box Theatre on September 17th!

About the Hosts: Arnie Niekamp is a writer, improviser, and one of the creators and video game director at Jackbox Games.

Adal Rifai (Chunt, the shapeshifting badger) is a long-time performer in Chicago at iO.

Matt Young (Usidor the wizard) is an actor, improviser, producer, director, and writer based in Chicago.
