In order to ensure that nerd levels are met we need a call to arms for all nerds in Chicago.

Our Nerd-O-ween event is almost upon us and we need help in the forms of…pumpkins. But not just any pumpkins, we need pumpkins with a bit of geeky flare.

All you need to do is carve out a pumpkin and bring it to Nerd-O-Ween, we will have postcards on hand for you to fill out your personal or business information. Anyone with a Nerd O’ Lantern on hand will receive free admission at the door.

What is nerdy to you? Gather a pumpkin and break out your Dremel tool and show us.

We are inviting ALL nerds to join the Chicago Nerd Social Club for Nerd-o-ween at Flounders Bar and Grill.  There will be fun, good company, and costume contests.   All draft micro-brews will be on special for $4.00 a pint and the bar is nerds ONLY.

Prizes will be awarded to nerds in costume for:

Update: Interested in coming to Nerd-O-Ween for free?  We are looking for Nerd O’ Lanterns to decorate our event and we are offering free admission to anyone that brings a carved nerdy pumpkin.

Update 10/30: Tickets will be available at the door for $12.00.  Doors open at 7:00pm, free platter of appetizers at 8:00pm, and costume contest at 9:00pm.

Cost: $12.00 in advance

The Nerd Event Calendar is a simple Google calendar that will collect as many of the nerdy events going on in the city that we can find. The events will be posted on our website here and will also be available as a public calendar that you can subscribe to. But the CNSC needs your help! Organizing a calendar of this magnitude is epic and even the chief nerd’s combined brain power isn’t enough to handle it. So this is how you can help us out!

If you know of an event coming up that should be listed on the Chicago Nerd Events Calendar, send us an email to events@chicagonerds.com. In the e-mail be sure to include as much information about the event as possible such as:

• Name of the event
• Start/end date and time of the event
• Location with a full address. Please provide the name of the venue when possible
• Meeting details when possible
• Contact information for the event. (Places we can get more information)
• The type of event (Tweetup, lecture, art exhibit, meetup, game night etc)

Once we receive your e-mail we’ll make sure it has all the necessary information and publish it to the calendar and send you a follow up e-mail letting you know we received and what the outcome was. If for some reason we have to reject your submission, you’ll receive an e-mail stating the reasons why and how to go about resubmitting it.

Our one major rule is that the event is available to the general public. Ticketed events are OK as long as tickets were made available to the general public.
