For February’s Book Club we will be reading Midnight Riot by Ben Aaronovitch. Probationary Constable Peter Grant dreams of being a detective in London’s Metropolitan Police. Too bad his superior plans to assign him to the Case Progression Unit, where the biggest threat he’ll face is a paper cut. But Peter’s prospects change in the aftermath of a puzzling murder, when he gains exclusive information from an eyewitness who happens to be a ghost.

At our January’s Book Club we discussed Sourdough by Robin Sloan. Sourdough is about self discovery and the courage to remake oneself. Also while being a somewhat quirky, Sourdough is a satirical look of start-up life in San Francisco. While it was light on the Science Fiction and Fantasy there was a bit of magical realism and speculative fiction angles to make Sourdough a fast enjoyable read.
