Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Club #78

All The Birds in the Sky

For March’s Book Club we will be reading All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders. Childhood friends Patricia Delfine and Laurence Armstead didn’t expect to see each other again, after parting ways under mysterious circumstances during high school. After all, the development of magical powers and the invention of a two-second time machine could hardly fail to alarm one’s peers and families.

“Everything you could ask for in a debut novel – a fresh look at science fiction’s most cherished memes, ruthlessly shredded and lovingly reassembled.” ―Cory Doctorow

At February’s Book Club we discussed Time Salvager by Wesley Chu. An interesting premise with lots of potential but ultimately wasted in flat characters, cliches, clunky writing and awkward dialogue.

“It started raining men, and not in the good way”

When: Monday, March 14th, 2016, 6:30pm-7:30pm

I won’t be able to come to the March meeting, as I have another obligation that evening. But I want to start coming regularly. I live in Oak Park and hope your meeting place is not too far away. (I don’t have a car) Please keep me on your mailing list.
