With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, it tells the story of a writer,Katurian, who has been arrested by two detectives, Tupolski and Ariel, in an unnamed totalitarian state. He is wanted for questioning in connection to a series of horrific murders that happen to resemble the events of several of his stories. Unbeknownst to him, his mentally challenged brother has also been taken into custody, and both their lives as well as Katurian’s legacy hang in the balance.
Originally debuted by David Tennant in November 2003, Innate Theatre is proud to present a tenth anniversary of McDonagh’s masterful play.
