Jeff Smith
Jeff Smith is an IT professional who has been training for entrance into Starfleet Academy since the age of 9. His love of computers and science fiction were a perfect match for the type of mind that typically excels in Starfleet. At the age of 24 he was crushed to learn that not only was Starfleet a work of fiction, but that man had only travelled as far as the moon, quite a far cry from Vulcan. Given this new bit of information, Jeff decided it might be time to relocate out of upstate New York. (Upstate as in Schenectady, which is nowhere near NYC) He was kind of a big fish in a small pond in New York and was curious how he might fare in a larger market.
Now Jeff lives in the wonderful city of Chicago and wants to meet more people like him. He’s a bit of a Web 2.0 whore and loves most forms of social networking. He’s an avid D&D player (4th edition), a video gamer (XBOX 360), Podcaster & Blogger (www.allthingsdork.com), comic book nut (I <3 Batman), photographer (Nikon), amateur filmmaker and a huge football fan. (Go Atlanta Falcons!!) He’s a major nerd and is always interested in projects that have people with the same level of passion and commitment. (I’m also a bit of a project management nerd)
Jeff’s dream is to one day launch a consulting business of his own. After spending years watching large companies screw up projects, he’d like the opportunity to see to try and do things his own way.
Jeff is currently dating a woman way out of his league. She’s a bit of a nerd herself so it’s kind of a perfect binary match. You can find Jeff’s thoughts and musings at www.allthingsdork.com.
