Nerds are sometimes a very organized bunch, but there are a great deal of us who are incredibly disorganized. That disorganization can often spread to our personal life. As every nerd in Chicago knows, there is a lot going on in a given day, week, or month in Chicago. Everyone has experienced the pain of knowing that their favorite event was yesterday. That’s why the Chicago Nerd Social Club is going to publish the Chicago Nerd Events Calendar.

The Nerd Event Calendar is a simple Google calendar that will collect as many of the nerdy events going on in the city that we can find. The events will be posted on our website here and will also be available as a public calendar that you can subscribe to. But the CNSC needs your help! Organizing a calendar of this magnitude is epic and even the chief nerd’s combined brain power isn’t enough to handle it. So this is how you can help us out!

If you know of an event coming up that should be listed on the Chicago Nerd Events Calendar, send us an email to [email protected]. In the e-mail be sure to include as much information about the event as possible such as:

• Name of the event
• Start/end date and time of the event
• Location with a full address. Please provide the name of the venue when possible
• Meeting details when possible
• Contact information for the event. (Places we can get more information)
• The type of event (Tweetup, lecture, art exhibit, meetup, game night etc)

Once we receive your e-mail we’ll make sure it has all the necessary information and publish it to the calendar and send you a follow up e-mail letting you know we received and what the outcome was. If for some reason we have to reject your submission, you’ll receive an e-mail stating the reasons why and how to go about resubmitting it.

Our one major rule is that the event is available to the general public. Ticketed events are OK as long as tickets were made available to the general public.
