Doctor Who 101 Part B
Posted on 14 August 2011 by Jeff
Many of you are currently watching Doctor Who and curious about the show’s long history. You want to learn more about the show’s history and meet some of your fellow Chicago-area fans, but more importantly, just hang out and get your Who on!vOnce again, the Chicago Nerds social club is bringing you “Doctor Who 101”, a timey-wimey exploration of Doctor Who, with appropriate background, in a very casual atmosphere.
Join Gordon Dymowski, comics/pop culture blogger, writer/podcaster for Comic Related, and all around Whovian as he leads fans in an exploration on the world of Doctor Who. It’ll be a relatively low-key affair, but this is your chance to get to know the show a little better, learn some cool DVD recommendations, and more importantly, catch up on what’s going on while meeting some of your fellow fans. We’ll be talking both classic and new Who, and will be a unique experience spanning time and space. Besides, it’s a great way to get a kick start to your week.
We’ll be meeting at Wormhole Coffee, located in Wicker Park near the Damen Blue Line. It’s a venue with an 80’s-geek theme, and you can’t beat their coffee. (You’ll know you are there when you see a DeLorean in the front window. Yes, you read that correctly) Bring your sonic screwdrivers, your Jelly babies, and your wind-up toy Daleks, and meet some of your fellow new (and classic) Who nerds.
When: Tuesday, September 13th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Where: Wormhole Coffee, 1462 N. Milwaukee (near the Damen Blue Line stop)
Cost: FREE (although we would appreciate you buying some of Wormhole’s coffee to say thanks for hosting!)

I just found out about you guys. Can’t make this event, going to a nerdy talk at the Adler Planetarium, but I’ll be seeing you in the future for sure.
Until our paths cross, be kind, be safe, be happy.
I’m so excited. You know what I’m doing tonight
