For March’s Book Club we will discussing To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis, which won both Hugo and Locus awards in 1999, and was nominated for the Nebula in 1998. Set in 2057 at Oxford University, but also at many other times and places throughout history due to the time travel that’s been developed in this setting, much of the action occurs in Victorian England. In the Oxford setting, time travel has been used mostly for historical research, but a paradox has occurred that needs to be set right.
At February’s Book Club we discussed A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan. While we enjoyed it enough for many of us to continue into the second book of the series, we wished she had done more world-building, and especially, especially showed us: MORE DRAGONS. More detailed notes available at Positron Chicago.
