Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Club #82
At July’s Book Club we will be reading Barsk: The Elephants’ Graveyard by Lawrence M. Schoen. An historian who speaks with the dead is ensnared by the past. A child who feels no pain and who should not exist sees the future. Between them are truths that will shake worlds.
“Weird, wise, and worldly, Barsk: The Elephants’ Graveyard is a triumph.” ―Robert J. Sawyer, Hugo Award-winning author of Red Planet Blues
At June’s Book Club we read Central Station by Lavie Tidhar. While it was not driven by an overall plot it is a very satisifing and enjoyable read. The world building and characters are well developed and the story feels like a real place filled by Post-Humans who are very human.
When: Monday, July 11th, 2016 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Where: Filter Cafe 1373-75 N. Milwaukee Ave
