For June’s Book Club we will be reading The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. Maia the youngest, half-goblin son of the Emperor has lived his entire life in exile. But when his father and three sons in line for the throne are killed in an “accident,” he has no choice but to take his place as the only surviving rightful heir.

At May’s Book Club we discussed The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August is a well written novel, that flows quickly and easily in spite of it’s complex ideas. At times it was difficult to keep track of all of Harry’s lives but keep with it and you will be rewarded with a interesting journey. The novel is an examination of determinism and free will, but also a subtle study of friendship, love and the complexity of existence.
