Doctor Who fans everywhere are eagerly anticipating the Series 8 debut of Peter Capaldi in the title role
later this month….and with an increased focus on both a television and theatrical debut, Chicago Nerd Social Club is organizing a gathering for an upcoming theatrical season.
On August 25th, we will be gathering to attend the 7:00 pm screening of the series premiere, Deep Breath, at the AMC River East Theater. (Tickets can be purchased via Fandango; we will assemble in the lobby of the theater at approximately 6:00 pm. We’ll then join many other Who fans in seeing the debut episode onscreen, which also promises exclusive making of footage and a “prequel” scene.
After the screening ends (approximately 9:30 pm), we’ll be making our way towards the D4 Irish Pub & Cafe, located at 345 E. Ohio, for a post-screening social. (For those of you who can’t make the screening - you’re also more than welcome to join us for an evening of great Whovian enthusiasm!
This is a great opportunity to see Doctor Who in a unique venue, and remember - cosplay is not only welcome, it’s encouraged!
